The new mixtape from U.K. avant-pop star, FKA Twigs, unfurls to reveal the richest and catchiest melodies she’s written so far with plenty of sonic weirdness in the corners.
With Dawn FM, Abel Tesfaye has truly cemented himself as one of the modern greats, bringing to fruition a yet another excellent sonic turn driven largely by the excellent production of Daniel Lopatin (of Oneohtrix Point Never).
Parannoul (the anonymous artist behind one of our favorite albums of 2021) released the gorgeous ‘Rough and Beautiful Place’ on New Year’s Day under this new moniker with little fanfare. A vast departure from the emo-shoegaze-dream pop of his breakout debut this album finds beauty in ambient space.
‘SICK!’ is brief, for sure, but it is packed with densely packaged rhymes and rewarding musical numbers that are majestic. Earl doesn’t miss.
